Thank you for using Scientific Camera Pro 2 — See things your way (hereafter "the App"). Your privacy matters to us, and we want to be upfront about how the App works. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App does and does not collect, and the terms under which you use it.
Scientific Camera Pro 2 is a scientific photography and imaging utility built for educational and exploratory purposes. It is designed to help users study optical concepts — including telephoto power, digital zoom, focal length, field-of-view, and exposure — through real-time, on-device calculations and live camera preview. The App also layers supplemental contextual information (such as publicly available weather and location readings) on top of the viewfinder so users can learn how ambient conditions relate to imaging.
1. Information We Collect
We do not collect, store, or share any personal information.
Scientific Camera Pro 2 does not require you to create an account, log in, or provide any personal details such as your name, email address, phone number, or precise identity. The App does not use cookies, analytics services, advertising frameworks, or any third-party tracking tools.
Camera, Microphone, and Storage Usage
The App uses your device's camera and (optionally) microphone solely to render the live preview, compute scientific imaging parameters in real time, and allow you to capture photos or record videos. All captured photos and videos are written only to your device's local storage (or the gallery location you choose). Nothing is uploaded, transmitted, or shared by the App itself.
Location Usage
The App may request coarse or fine location only to (a) display local sunrise/sunset, weather, and environmental context alongside the preview for educational purposes, and (b) optionally embed standard EXIF geotags into photos you choose to save. Location readings are processed on-device and are never sent to us.
Network Usage
The App requires an internet connection solely to retrieve publicly available weather and environmental data from public sources such as the U.S. National Weather Service (forecast.weather.gov) and weather.com. This data is fetched directly to your device for on-screen display next to the viewfinder. We do not route this data through any server owned or operated by us, and we do not log, intercept, or store any of the data retrieved.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
To be clear, Scientific Camera Pro 2 does not collect any of the following:
Personal identification information (name, email, address, phone number)
Device identifiers or hardware fingerprints
Precise location history or GPS tracking data
Contacts, photos, files, or any other on-device content outside of what you explicitly capture with the App
Financial account information, payment details, or credentials
Usage analytics, behavioral data, or browsing history
Advertising identifiers
Microphone audio outside of an active, user-initiated video recording
3. Third-Party Services
Scientific Camera Pro 2 retrieves publicly available environmental data from sources such as the U.S. National Weather Service (forecast.weather.gov) and weather.com. When the App fetches this data, your device connects directly to those third-party servers. Their respective privacy policies and terms of service govern those interactions, and we encourage you to review them.
The App does not integrate with any third-party advertising networks, analytics platforms, social media SDKs, or crash-reporting services.
4. Data Storage and Security
All image processing, optical calculations, sensor readings, face detection, QR-code decoding, and scientific computations occur entirely on your device. No data is transmitted from your device to us or to any server under our control. Because we do not collect or store any user data, there is no personal data at risk of breach on our side.
Photos and videos you capture remain under your control, stored locally on your device or in the destination you select. You can delete them at any time using your device's standard gallery or file-management tools.
5. Children's Privacy
Scientific Camera Pro 2 does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since the App collects no personal data whatsoever, it does not pose a privacy risk specific to children. The App is intended for users interested in studying photography, optics, and scientific imaging concepts, and is not specifically designed for children.
6. Educational Purpose and Disclaimer
Scientific Camera Pro 2 is intended as an educational and utility imaging tool. Please read the following carefully:
The App is designed to help users learn about and explore optical concepts — including telephoto power, zoom ratios, focal length, field-of-view, color effects, white balance, scene modes, exposure, and sensor behavior — through hands-on experimentation with the device's built-in camera.
Readings such as telephoto power, calculated zoom level, heart-rate estimation (when supported), sensor values, sunrise/sunset times, and weather information are presented for educational and illustrative purposes only.
The heart-rate feature, where available, is an experimental demonstration of how a smartphone camera can sample pulse-like signals. It is not a medical device and must not be used for any diagnostic, clinical, or health-monitoring purpose.
The App does not provide professional photography advice, scientific measurement certifications, or any guaranteed-precision calculations. Any values displayed (tele power, digital zoom factors, field-of-view estimates, environmental readings, etc.) are approximations intended for learning.
Users assume all responsibility for how they use the App, including compliance with local laws about photography, recording, and privacy of others. Do not photograph or record people, locations, or content where doing so is illegal or prohibited.
The developer, InfoPlus LLC, is not responsible for any damages, losses, or consequences arising from the use or interpretation of information displayed in the App.
7. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, INFOPLUS LLC, ITS DEVELOPER(S), AFFILIATES, AND CONTRIBUTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO:
YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP;
ANY DECISIONS OR ACTIONS TAKEN BASED ON INFORMATION, CALCULATIONS, OR READINGS DISPLAYED BY THE APP;
ANY INACCURACIES, ERRORS, OR OMISSIONS IN THE CAMERA PARAMETERS, OPTICAL CALCULATIONS, SENSOR READINGS, OR ENVIRONMENTAL DATA PRESENTED;
ANY INTERRUPTION, DELAY, OR FAILURE OF THE APP OR ITS THIRD-PARTY DATA SOURCES;
ANY THIRD-PARTY SERVICES OR DATA ACCESSED THROUGH THE APP.
USE OF THIS APP IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
